EARTHING PROBLEMS – FurseCEM (Marconite) a permanent Solution

In most installations particularly in telecoms & ICT, Oil and Gas and process manufacturing. The risk of fire, explosion, fault and leakage currents affect Power quality.

Hence the need to lower earth resistance for safe, optimal and proper equipment function.
Certain ground conditions make these difficult despite massive deployment of earth electrodes .Without achieving significant results despite increased costs and downtime.
The good news is that FurseCEM, provide convenient, easy, economical and permanent earth solution.

FurseCEM, is the unique conductive soil enhancing aggregate.

DIRECTION FOR USE
Adding FurseCEM in place of sand and aggregate to Portland cement, a conductive concrete is formed.
This electrically conductive medium has found many applications in that electrical/construction industry increasing RF and microwave screaming static control and Earthing which it is specifically designed for.

When used as a backfill for earth electrode, FurseCEM concrete greatly increase the electrode surface area thus lowering its resistance to earth.

How does it lower the earth resistance

FurseCEM concrete used as a backfill for a convectional earth rod to achieve a lower earth electrode resistance

From the basic pure sciences, we know that resistance of a material is inversely proportional to the surface area and proportional to the length

R α L/A ————— (1)
R = ƿL/A ————– (2)
R = Apparent Earth electrode resistance in ohms
Ƿ = Soil resistivity in ohm.cm
L = Length of electrode in metres
A = Surface area in centimetre square

When we use FurseCEM backfills (concrete) in place of earth electrode, we are increasing the diameter and therefore the surface area (A) and invariably the resistance is lowered as shown in equation (2)

Resistance versus Diameter

The graph shows how the resistance to earth of a single earth rod can be improved. Backfilling with FurseCEM concrete increases the rods effective diameter from 15mm to 100mm, thus lowering the resistance to earth from 12.5Ω to 9.5Ω

Conclusion: No other product can offer the same benefits as FurseCEM in Earthing applications
